在歐亨利的筆下，每個(gè)人都被刻畫得淋漓盡致：富人的貪婪，窮苦人民的善良，社會(huì)的黑暗……當(dāng)翻開(kāi)第一個(gè)故事《麥琪的禮物》時(shí)，我不由得為這對(duì)年輕夫婦感到悲哀，2人昔日感到彼此珍貴的東西到現(xiàn)在卻成了無(wú)用的東西；但我又為2人感到欣慰，因?yàn)樗麄兊玫搅吮缺礞満褪嶙犹籽b更珍貴的東西——愛(ài)，他們告訴我們要尊重他人的'愛(ài)，學(xué)會(huì)去愛(ài)他人，這難道不是人與人之間相處的基本規(guī)則么？
